Fiscal Responsibility Has Benefits; S&P Reaffirms Oro Valley “AA-” Rating

Standard & Poor’s rating agency has reaffirmed the Town of Oro Valley’s strong “AA-” rating on the Series 2012 Excise Tax Revenue Obligations to fund the Town’s aquatic facility enhancements.

Oro Valley leadership get’s it.  Development of attraction infrastructure will help to grow local business, which in turn will help to keep our quality of life high, while letting sales tax dollars pay for the amenities.  With the enhancements the aquatic facility will draw competitive events and in turn the money exchange that goes with it from hotels to restaurants and much more.

“We are proud to receive this strong investment grade rating that reflects the sound fiscal condition of the town” said Finance Director Stacey Lemos.  “This will contribute to our ability to issue these obligations at historically low-interest rates, resulting in lower borrowing costs for the aquatic facility enhancements project.”

The Town is preparing to sell these obligations in the market to make things happen.  This is one more example of why Oro Valley is a great place to live!
