US-Mexico Water Supply Agreement Progressing

Senator Al Melvin has often suggested we should create a new water supply opportunity.  Now we learn that plans are being made to unveil a landmark pact between the United States and Mexico to share Colorado River water during times of drought and surplus.

Water has long been the restraining factor in development for the desert southwest.  This is not an old concern; the Roman’s created the aqueducts to move large volumes of water from areas where the supply was actually an over-supply, to areas where development opportunity existed.

TV News KGUN 9 broke the story on-line this afternoon, http://www.kgun9.com/news/local/179715661.html and we can’t wait to see how this develops.  The question is, will Federal plans be a benefit or a curse?
